History:
Zaraku Arashi was not always a man hidden in the mist, a total enigma to his enemies. In fact, Arashi was not even born within Kirigakure or even Mizu no Kuni for that matter. He was instead born within the boundaries of Kaze no Kuni, within the heart of the enemy village of Sunagakure, the only child and heir of the prestigious Sandaime Kazekage, Kurogane Ryushin. However, he was not allowed the privilege of knowing his real parents, as he was kidnapped by enemy shinobi of Kirigakure. Taking him back to their village, they brought Arashi straight to the current Mizukage, Kigane Ayame. Seeing him as a potentially powerful weapon, the Nidaime Mizukage ordered for the hachimata, who was trapped with a sword at the time, be sealed within the boy, making him not only one of the most dangerous shinobi in the world, but Kirigakure’s greatest weapon as well. Seeing him as a god among men, many of the clan leaders and council elders fought among themselves, each one wanting to raise him. So one had to right? In the end however, the Zaraku clan won custody of the boy and began to train him in the shinobi arts.
Working hard for many years, Arashi was accepted into the academy at the age of four. However, all was not to be; a civil war soon broke out in the land of water, killing his mother and making his father a prisoner of war. His clan was nearly eradicated, save for a few key members, and Arashi wept over his loss for many months. However, he promised himself that he would become stronger, and never cry again; he vowed he would avenge his mother and find his father.
Training hard over the next few years in the academy, Arashi graduated the Academy at the age of only seven years old. Being placed on a three-man cell along with Umi Nami, an eleven year old kunoichi, and a mysterious youth only known as Lee; their sensei was none other than Zaraku Ryu, one of his relatives who had survived the war and a member of the seven swordsmen of the mist. Accomplishing many missions together, they made a reputation for themselves around the village; they appeared to be the most effective team of Genin in the hidden mist at the time. But, like all good things, this came to an end; returning from a particularly hard mission on the border of the fire country, they were ambushed by a group of low-level Nukenin on the outskirts of the city. Fighting valiantly through the group, only Arashi managed to survive the onslaught of the attacks; Nami’s throat had been slit and Ryu had lost both of his arms, Lee wasn’t even recognizable after the Nukenin had gotten through with him.
Feigning Death, Arashi managed to get the Nukenin to leave, as they thought that they had killed all four of them. Only thing was, Arashi was still alive and as soon as the remaining three men had their backs turned, Arashi slaughtered them all; activating his bijuu for the very first time. Rushing to his fallen comrades, Arashi was terrified at the carnage that lay before him. Bending over his fallen sensei, Haru listened to his mentor’s final words, “Arashi, what ever you do, don’t lose your head… Just keep on fighting the good fight…. Never loose your fighting spirit, kid.” With that Zaraku Ryu was gone from the world, only leaving behind a broken body and his sword the Koryuken. Burying the bodies of his fallen comrades, Arashi took his mentor’s sword and made his way back to Kirigakure. Vowing once again to avenge the fallen, Arashi swore he would become the Mizukage to stop all the suffering in the land of Water.
Training for extensively long hours over the next few years, Haru easily aced the Chunin exams at the age of ten, and headed down the road of an Oinin captain. Going all over the map, Arashi stopped in each hidden village that he passed and trained with well respected masters within each one. Learning many abilities over the years, Haru would normally fall back on his Oinin skills and Water/Lightning based techniques.
Coming back to Kirigakure at the age of nineteen, Arashi was inducted into the seven swordsmen of the Mist, as he held one of the “seven swords” at the time, and all those with a “sword”, must become a member. So, with an active status within the seven swordsmen of the mist, Haru took on many S-classed missions over the years and battled/defeated at the very least 23 A-ranked or higher Nukenin. During this time, Arashi was also able to activate his ability for the Satetsu, a feat not accomplished since the Sandaime Kazekage.
Also during this time, Arashi was assigned to become the Sandaime Mizukage’s personal bodyguard and assistant. Growing close to the Mizukage over the years, Arashi began to look up to him as a father figure of sorts, learning many facts about life from the “old man”. However, that was not all, the Mizukage was also able to instruct him in an ancient battle style, incorporating his blade, used by the very first Mizukage nearly 150 years ago. Believing that he would give anything for the Mizukage, even his own life for him, Arashi was shaken to the core, when the Mizukage was assassinated by the Kazekage of the time, Gaara. For the third time in his life, Arashi vowed to get vengeance, this time on the Kazekage.
Ready to throw his life away to get his revenge, Arashi packed all of his belongings and prepared to chase after Gaara. However, before he could leave the gates, the council of elders approached him, telling him of a proposition they had for him. Following the elders in to the council chamber, Arashi was prepared for the worst, but instead of revealing ill intent, the informed him of a revelation that purely shocked him; The Mizukage had made him his heir. With full consent from the elders, Zaraku Arashi was to become the next Mizukage, the Yondaime to be precise. Reluctant to take the position, Arashi gave up his plans of a suicide attack for the sake of his people, and intended to fight the Kazekage in a more political way instead. Giving up his blade to the Swordsmen of the mist once more, Haru currently wields the Mizukage's blade, the Hyorinmaru.
